'These Artefacts are the JPEG's of my life' was my first showing of the investigations I was making into memory and the 'Glitch'. This piece was in the form of an installation on light boxes bring attention to these 'artifacts' or copies of the past. Self Identity in part is dependent on the vitality of our autobiographical memory's ability to store personal experiences; however upon revisiting memories, our perception of the prevailing world view skews these moments creating a less linear progression of the past making it perceivably impossible to hold onto the exact image of the memory. Using the Glitch and enforcing information i do know about the past I am able to reproduce the failings of what my memories might look like.
'Without memories, we would be lost to ourselves, amnesiacs failing around in a constant, unrelenting present'
